Far Cry 6 offers players a vast open world filled with hidden secrets, unique weapons, and engaging side activities known as Treasure Hunts. Among these, the Cache Money hunt stands out as an excellent early-game opportunity to acquire a powerful 3-star sniper rifle. Navigating the military compound where it is hidden requires a combination of stealth, puzzle-solving, and a clear understanding of the local layout.
Finding the Treasure Hunt Location
To begin this quest, players must head to the Aguas Lindas region located within Madrugada. Specifically, you need to locate the FND Storage Facility 24, which sits nestled in the northern portion of this territory. Approaching the area will automatically trigger the standard orange treasure hunt icon on your map, indicating the starting point document is nearby.
The quest note itself is located in a small guard post right at the main entrance of the fenced military zone. Interacting with this document will officially begin the hunt, revealing that a valuable stash is hidden inside one of the locked bunkers. Players must remain vigilant as the compound is heavily monitored by enemy soldiers who will attack on sight.
Gaining Entry to Bunker Two
The primary objective centers around accessing Bunker 2, which has its main doors firmly sealed shut. To bypass this security measure, you must look for a nearby roof that provides a clear line of sight to the building's ventilation systems. Climb the ladder on the adjacent office building to reach a stable vantage point overlooking the target area.
From this elevated position, look toward the front entrance of Bunker 2 and locate the large switch on the wall next to the main gate. Pressing this button will cause the heavy bunker doors to open briefly before jamming up. During this short window, a volatile generator inside becomes exposed to your weapons fire from the rooftop.
Destroying the Substation Generator
Equip a ranged weapon, preferably a rifle or sniper, and carefully aim through the opening of the partially raised doors. Fire a few shots directly into the explosive canisters located inside the generator room to trigger a massive internal chain reaction. The resulting explosion will violently blow open a hatch located directly on the roof of the bunker.
Descend from your vantage point and climb up onto the newly damaged roof of Bunker 2 to find the smoking opening. Drop down into the interior corridor safely, making sure to avoid any lingering fire or environmental hazards. From there, follow the linear hallway down into a secluded office space that serves as the commander's personal quarters.
Claiming Your Unique Weapon Reward
Inside the office, you will see a prominent keycard sitting on the desk which opens a nearby fenced storage room. Use the keycard to gain access to the secure area where a large, ornate weapon chest sits waiting. Opening this chest completes the quest and rewards you with the Sobek Special, a highly effective unique sniper rifle equipped with armor-piercing rounds.
Before leaving the area, players should also collect the various crafting resources scattered around the desk and shelves. This unique rifle provides an immense advantage for long-range stealth encounters throughout the remainder of the campaign. Once everything is collected, you can safely exit through the front door and continue exploring the island of Yara.
